ElderWise services are available for individuals and families, as well as for businesses and other organizations who serve older adults and their families.
ElderWise Family Coaching provides in-depth, personal attention to specific situations you and your family face as you embark on supporting aging parents, or as you begin to prepare for your own aging.
For businesses and organizations, consider bringing ElderWise expertise to your employees, volunteers, organization members or prospective clients. We offer training programs, facilitation services, and presentations in a variety of formats.
Here are some comments from past clients:
“Mara is an experienced guide for those facing age-related transitions. The information session she provided for our employees was well received and provided much-needed information and discussion time that I believe impacted our business in a positive way.” Ken Storen, Health & Safety Manager, General Dynamics Canada
“Diversicare’s “Choices and Challenges” program focused on helping families prepare for the challenges ahead. Mara’s presentation was interesting, informative and engaging for our audience - mostly boomers with aging parents. We were delighted to include Mara as our presenter and would be pleased to work with her again in the future. She is knowledgable, empathetic and, most of all, a credible source for people looking for information about aging.” - Brenda Josephs, General Manager, Lk. Bonavista Village, Diversicare
“Bring her back for a continued session!” - Participant, City of Calgary employee wellness series
“The “Age-Smart” Road Map is an excellent discussion of 10 essential steps to prepare for what could happen in life as we get older. Mara’s warmth and wisdom is worth listening to. She is able to broach touchy subjects and offer practical advice. Her knowledge is applicable to any adult, not just seniors.” - Joanne Peace, Calgary Public Library (Country Hills Br.) -
“Loved the way you presented it, non-threatening to the individual, yet very informative.” - Wayne W., attended “Housing Options for Later Life” with his family
“For volunteers working with older adults, this ElderWise training brought awareness to the many issues that older adults may deal with. The session built on the knowledge of the participants … therefore was more meaningful and memorable. It was informal and made everyone feel comfortable with sharing their knowledge.” - Tara Burnett, Outreach Coordinator, St. Albert +50 Club
“Thank you so much for presenting to our staff on such an important topic. I’ve had great feedback and I know your knowledge and information is appreciated by many.” - Erin M., Events Co-ordinator, SAIT
